Total of 25,879 (passenger) hybrid electric vehicles produced in country in January (+53.9%), of which 25,839 cars (+54.1%; Hyundai: 6,171 HEVs, +12.3%; Toyota: 19,668 HEVs, +74.5%) and 40 buses (-20%; Iveco: 40 HEVs, -20%). AutoSAP: Car production in Czechia up by 10% y/y to 125,190 in January (Škoda+SEAT/Cupra +18.2%, Hyundai -5.8%, Toyota -2.8%). Buses (Iveco -24.4%, SOR +585.7%), motorcycles (Jawa +34%) successful differently. Electrified vehicles are becoming one of main pillars of production in domestic car factories. Almost quarter of Škoda Auto’s production, half of Hyundai’s production in Nošovice, and all vehicles from Toyota in Kolín are models with some form of electrified drive. Models manufactured in Czechia are successful not only on domestic market but also on major European markets. Czech automotive industry is thus clearly demonstrating that it can transform technological transformation it has set out to achieve into concrete results, Petzl said. Electric car manufacturing increased by 56.8% to 24,950 BEVs and PHEVs, while internal combustion engine car (ICEV) output up by 2.4% to 100,240 units
