Sales (deliveries to customers) of battery electric vehicles (BEV) of Volkswagen Group down by 3.3% to 136,400 in Q1 (VW -2.6%; Škoda +12.3%; SEAT+Cupra -24%; VW Commercial Vehicles +29.4%; Audi +3%; Porsche -52.9%; MAN -10.6%; VW Truck & Bus +347.1%; Scania -36.5%; Navistar +330.8%). PwC increased 2024 Czech new car registrations forecast from 200,000-220,000 units (-1% to -10%, 2023: 221,422) to 205,000-225,000 units (-7% to +2%). Demand for cars continues to be significantly affected by current relatively less favorable economic situation (weak economy, expensive financing), which, according to current forecasts, we expect gradual improvement during this year, especially with regard to development of inflation. Improving indicators to gradually improve purchasing power of companies and consumers as well as their mood and have positive effect on demand. So far, however, this influence on registrations is only cautious, Janeček said
