Company stopped paying its obligations due to shift of automakers away from chrome plating, which was caused by European REACH regulation prohibiting the use of carcinogenic substance hexavalent chromium (Cr6+) in galvanization. Galvanoplast responded to this market change by rebuilding W2 electroplating line to technology without use of Cr6+ and closing other two facilities in city (W1, W3).
